Donald Trump is Not a Draft-Dodger.

Sure he got deferments while going to college, but so did every other male college student during that time. If you want to call Donald Trump a draft dodger for going to college, then you'll have to call every American male who went to college between the years 1969 and 1972 a draft dodger. How about Bill Clinton? He got college deferments as well and, unlike Trump who stayed in the country and went to school in Philadelphia, Bill Clinton actually left the country! So, would you say that Bill Clinton a draft-dodger? If you apply the “draft-dodger” tag to Trump because he went to college, then you must apply it to Bill Clinton as well. After graduating from Whaton's with a B.S. in economics in 1971, Donald Trump started work at his father's firm in New Jersey. Working and living openly where he could be easily found by anyone or any authority who wanted or needed to find him. He didn't run to Canada or some other country like the actual draft-dodgers did. He didn't live under the altar of sanctuary at a Church like the actual draft-dodgers did. He didn't “disappear” and go underground like the actual draft-dodgers did. Trump did, in fact, register for the draft, but his draft number was never called. Based upon his birth date, his draft number was 356. The highest draft number drawn during that period of 1969 to 1973 was 195. Donald Trump was quite simply never called into service.

Also, during the period of 1971 to 1973, President Nixon was already starting to draw down and pull troops out of Vietnam, so naturally the rate at which draftees were being called up was rapidly decreasing until the draft finally ended in January of 1973. Regarding the argument about Donald Trump's bone-spur; so what? it has absolutely no relevancy as he never got to that stage of the process. He was never called. He was never drafted. Could it just be that he really had a bone spur, and that he got it taken care of? End of story. Donald Trump is NOT a “draft-dodger”
